The journal “Ecological Safety and Balanced Use of Resources” was founded in 2010 by the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas. It primarily focuses on addressing issues in the fields of ecology, environmental protection, and sustainable resource management. Since Volume 14, Issue 2 (2023), the journal has refined its focus.

From 01.11.2024 to 01.10.2025, the co-founder of the journal was Scientific Journals LLC.

The aim of the journal is to analyse both global and local environmental issues, as well as provide various perspectives on potential solutions. Articles making theoretical and empirical contributions should highlight the importance of conscious resource use, in line with the strategic objectives of sustainable resource management development.

The journal is listed in the List of Scientific Professional Publications of Ukraine (category “B”), where results of doctoral and candidate dissertations in the following fields may be published (Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine No. 1643, dated 28 December 2019): 0521 Environmental sciences; 0712 Environmental protection technology.
